The Review Challenge: Marilyn's Diner & Tsitsikamma Canopy Rides

Shake, rattle and roll into Marilyn’s bright, cheerful diner during your next to the Stormsrivier Village in the Garden Route.

This unique diner boasts a remarkable collection of Elvis Presley memorabilia unlike I’ve seen before! And of course… what would Marilyn’s Diner be without a decorative mural, newspaper and magazine clippings, portraits and pictures giving us a glimpse of the life of the legendary  American actress, model, and singer Marilyn Monroe!

Vintage cars, motorcycles and even the odd drive-in speaker forms part of the décor and add to the feeling of traveling back in time! Drop a “penny” in the Jukebox while enjoying one of the decadent milkshakes on the menu. A MUST stop!

A Garden Route of ADVENTURE!

The current level 3 lockdown status in South Africa and the subsequent ban on visiting any beaches, most certainly did not deter our families adventurous spirits to explore all that the gorgeous place we call home, the Garden Route, situated in the Western Cape in South Africa have to offer!

In fact, the COVID-19 pandemic deepened the realization of how important creating memories with loved ones are, so we set of to celebrate Beatrix-Belle’s 16th Birthday in the treetops of the magnificent Tsitsikamma indigenous rainforest.

The Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour Rides by Stormsrivier Adventures is situated in the Garden Route, South Africa. The unique view from the 11 elevated platforms, many built around giant Outeniqua Yellowwood trees, up to 700 years old is breathtaking! Standing within the crown of these giants and looking down at the lush forest floor thirty metres below was an experience of a lifetime. We loved the fact that our family was contributing to the conservation of these old tree-giants and having fun doing so!

Travellers TIP: There’s never been a better time to make your travelling wishlist shorter! Look out for special offers and packages normally priced for the international tourism market, but now offered to South Africans at affordable, family prices.
